Welcome to Root Nurture Grow Counselling. We look forward to working with you!

Hi, I’m Taylor.

When I am not working I can often be found cuddling with my dog, riding horses, reading, drawing or planning my next backpacking adventure.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO. My masters degree is in Counselling Psychology and I have an undergraduate degree in Criminology and Psychology. During my masters degree I completed my clinical practicum hours providing trauma counselling to survivors of sexual violence, where I practiced a variety of therapeutic modalities with both individuals and groups.

Prior to starting my psychotherapy journey I have had several years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of roles with individuals experiencing a wide range of challenges including complex mental health disorders, addictions, homelessness, developmental delays, neurodivergence and complex trauma.

I believe in a holistic, client-centered and collaborative approach to psychotherapy. I believe that the client is the expert in their own story and a counsellors job is to provide the space, tools and support to aid in the clients journey to personal growth. I believe that change and healing is possible and that all people have unique qualities and experiences. My goal is for you to feel seen, heard and valued. I strive to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space where we can work together to identify your values, strengths, and the steps you want to take to move forward. I believe in incorporating a variety of therapeutic approaches to best fit the clients individual needs and goals.

I am passionate about working with youth and young adults to manage a variety of mental health related challenges. This includes, but is not limited to; trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, neurodivergence, relationships, life transitions, self-esteem, coping with daily stressors, and relationships.

Hi, my name is Kayla

As an Occupational Therapist (OT), I believe in helping you live a life full of meaningful activities, exploring what that means for each individual as we are all unique. I use a compassionate lens with a collaborative client-centered approach. We work together starting by building a foundation of understanding and then finding strategies that help you to work with your condition, instead of against it. Those strategies may include behavioural activation, exposure therapy, psychoeducation, building routines and structure, CBT techniques, DBT techniques, developing skills for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)/Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) and remedial/compensatory cognitive strategies.

Through both group and individual formats, I have helped clients expand their comfort zones, return to work and re-engage in their important activities. I have personal and professional experience with adults who have following conditions: anxiety, depression, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactive Disorder), and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).

Outside of work, I am a toddler mom and pet parent. I love escape rooms, playing board games, painting (my sporadic hobby), traveling and staying home. I, personally, value learning and believe part of being human means we are forever growing.

Hi, my name is Emily. I work with clients of all ages, with a special focus on supporting children and youth as they navigate big emotions, relationships, identity, and life changes. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe, curious, and empowered to be themselves.

My approach is warm, playful, and developmentally sensitive, and I value collaborating with caregivers to support long-term growth.

I support clients with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, body image, disordered eating, anger, and stress. I also offer affirming care for neurodivergent children and youth and those with 2SLGBTQ+ identities.

My work is grounded in a trauma-informed lens, and I draw from CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, solution-focused, and humanistic approaches. Hi, I’m Jade.

I offer online individual therapy in English and French to children aged 10 and up, teens, and adults, as well as couples therapy. I support clients experiencing anxiety, stress, family conflict, people-pleasing, difficulties with emotional regulation, and communication or relationship concerns.

My style is calm, genuine, encouraging, and client-led. I believe therapy is your time: you decide what feels important to discuss, what you feel ready to share, and the pace of our work. Depending on your needs, I can offer space for reflection, practical strategies, or more direct feedback.

I bring four years of experience as a language educator in a speech-language pathology clinic, where I work with children aged 1–15, both in person and online. This experience, together with my graduate training in play therapy, helps me create engaging virtual sessions suited to each young person’s age, interests, and communication style. Sessions may include online games and interactive activities to support emotional expression and build coping and communication skills. When appropriate, I also collaborate with caregivers to help reinforce these skills in daily life.

I also work with couples who feel stuck in recurring arguments, have difficulty expressing their needs, or want to feel more connected and understood. Together, we can explore recurring patterns, practise more effective communication, and work toward greater trust and connection. When helpful, I draw on principles from the Gottman Method to support this work.

My work is grounded in person-centred therapy and may draw from cognitive behavioural, solution-focused, psychodynamic, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and play-based approaches. I offer affirming care to 2SLGBTQ+ clients and practise from a culturally responsive and anti-oppressive perspective, recognizing how sexual orientation, gender identity, language, culture, immigration experiences, and family expectations may shape well-being and relationships.

Hi, my name is Samantha,

I am a psychotherapist (RSW) with a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, dedicated to fostering connection, collaboration, and compassion. My goal is to support you in exploring your unique story, addressing challenges, and moving toward meaningful growth and healing.

I have a particular interest in areas such as infertility, cancer care, pregnancy, parenting, and navigating intergenerational trauma. These experiences can be deeply complex and emotionally challenging, but they also provide opportunities for profound healing and transformation. I believe therapy should be as unique as you are, and together, we will tailor your journey to align with your individual needs, goals, and experiences.

I use evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These modalities help clients process unresolved experiences, develop resilience, and reconnect with their inner strengths to foster empowerment and well-being.

In addition to individual work, I specialize in working with couples, recognizing how life’s challenges can impact an ever-evolving relationship. Whether navigating significant life events, improving communication, or deepening connection, I provide a supportive space to help couples strengthen their bond and work toward shared growth.

Your healing journey is uniquely yours, and I’m honored to walk alongside you as we work together toward a life that feels authentic, fulfilling, and aligned with your true self.

These can include trauma; physical, verbal, sexual, and psychological, grief, addictions, acquired brain injuries, neurodivergence, stress, grief, life transitions, conflict, personality disorders, depression, and anxiety.

One of my strengths is the ability to help a client tune out the noise, and focus on the root of their concern. I strive to be a patient partner in the journey and allow clients to go at their own pace during the counselling process. I use CBT, solution focused, narrative, humanistic, trauma informed and holistic modalities to support my clients.

I am a mom to two energetic, determined, beautiful little humans, whom I share with my supportive and encouraging husband. We have been on a crash course of parenting since 2016. Hi, my name is Alli,

As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I strive to create a warm, caring, and supportive space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences. I take a collaborative approach to therapy, working alongside children, adolescents, and adults as they navigate life’s challenges and move toward meaningful growth. While my work is deeply person-centered, I draw upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused techniques to help clients build practical skills, gain clarity, and create sustainable change.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent 20 years as a teacher in both elementary and secondary settings in BC. This experience allowed me to develop a strong understanding of the pressures young people face today—socially, emotionally, and academically—and continues to inform my work with individuals of all ages.

I have experience supporting clients living with anxiety, burnout, depression, ADHD and OCD, and I am passionate about helping people develop resilience, reconnect with their strengths, and move toward a more grounded and fulfilling life. My goal is to walk alongside each client with compassion and curiosity, honouring their story and supporting them in finding the next steps forward.

When I am not in session, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband, our two children, and our dog. My own self-care includes walking our dog, running, yoga and curling up with a good book. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you.
